FAQs

Clients may visit the food pantry once a week. The pantry is open

  • Tuesday-Friday
    Pantry Hours: 11:30am-1:30pm
    Pantry Hours: 3:30pm-5:30pm
  • Saturday
    Pantry Hours: 9:30am-1:30pm

The food pantry is meant to serve households at or below The Emergency Food Assistance Program income guidelines. Households that are experiencing a crisis may also qualify for short-term food assistance.

No identification or paperwork is required to receive assistance. You will be asked for a verbal declaration of your full name, address, number of people in your household, date of birth, and your monthly income.

There are two options:

   • CURBSIDE- If you’d like to limit the amount of contact you have with volunteers and food pantry staff, please feel free to park in our parking lot. You’ll be greeted by a volunteer, who will obtain the following information: Full name, address, number of people in your household, date of birth, and your monthly income. Once this is complete, you will receive your food.

   • INSIDE- If you’d like to choose your food, you can park and enter the facility through the door facing Kurth Drive. You will be greeted at the reception desk, where a volunteer will take your temperature and provide you with a mask if needed. Masks will be required to receive your food in this way. If your temperature is in a safe range, you will be asked for your full name, address, number of people in your household, date of birth, and your monthly income. After that, you will be asked to sit in our waiting area for a short time before walking through our food pantry to select your food from a range of shelf-stable items, meat, and fresh produce. Grocery carts will be available.

The Benefits Assistance Program can help you apply for other programs like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicare, Medicare Savings Program, Medicaid, Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF), Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Texas Women’s Health Program. Other community programs and services will be available after the pandemic. Please see the calendar for full programs and services currently offered.

Volunteer

We could not fulfill our mission of fighting hunger and feeding hope without our generous volunteers. We welcome volunteers at least 11 years old. Volunteers ages 11-16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Volunteer shifts are available Tuesday-Saturday at our food pantry. You can see all available volunteer opportunities and sign up for a shift here.
